Pentair Pentek DGD-5005-20 Big Blue Water Filter
The DGD Series Cartridges, manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene, are designed to be used in Pentair Pentek Big Blue Filter Housings. These cartridges are engineered for purity, ensuring that they will not impart any taste, odor, or color to the liquid being filtered. Moreover, the polypropylene construction provides superior chemical resistance.
The advanced design of the DGD Series Cartridges combines selective final filtration with appropriate pre-filtration, enabling them to achieve up to three times the dirt holding capacity of similar-sized sediment cartridges and even greater capacity than standard spun or string-wound cartridges. The larger diameter of the filter reduces the particle load, allowing it to operate at higher velocities. The effective filter depth is increased to a full 233%, which provides very high particulate reduction efficiencies and added loading capacity.
The design and performance characteristics of the DGD Series Cartridges make them an excellent choice for a wide range of applications, including residential, rural, municipal, and commercial settings. These cartridges are an ideal high-flow pre-filter, as the filter density increases towards the cartridge's center, resulting in superior particulate reduction and three times the dirt-holding capacity of similar-sized sediment cartridges.
For your peace of mind, the DGD Series Cartridges have been tested and certified by NSF International to the NSF/ANSI Standard 42. They are sized for use in all 20-inch Big Blue filter housings (or other heavy-duty filter housings) and can replace any 20-inch x 4.5-inch sediment filter cartridge.
To ensure the best results and performance, it is recommended to replace the DGD Series Cartridges every 6 months or when you notice a drop in water pressure or water quality. By keeping your water clean and protecting your appliances, these cartridges help remove dirt, sand, silt, and particulates, providing you with clean, pure water.
