The Home Master Whole House Granular Activated Catalytic Carbon Filter with KDF85 is a replacement filter designed for the Home Master HMF2SmgCC model. This filter is compatible with all Home Master Whole House Filter systems. The filter contains 3 lbs of KDF85 media, which is effective in removing chloramines, hydrogen sulfide, and soluble heavy metals such as iron, manganese, lead, mercury, copper, and aluminum. Additionally, the filter includes catalytic carbon media to remove chloramines, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, iron, manganese, chemicals, and undesirable tastes and odors.
The typical lifecycle of this filter is 95,000 gallons, and it is made in the USA. The recommended operating conditions for this filter include a pH range of 6 to 10, manganese levels less than 1 PPM, iron levels less than 1 PPM, no iron bacteria, and hydrogen sulfide levels less than 1 PPM. The feed water pressure should be between 20 to 90 psi, and the feed water temperature should be between 40°F to 100°F. The maximum total dissolved solids (TDS) should not exceed 2000 PPM.
It is important to note that the filter's performance may vary depending on the regular maintenance, the general condition of the unit, and the initial water supply. The filter is not designed to treat microbial unsafe or non-potable water without adequate disinfection before and after the unit.
